EA UPDATE 14

Crown management has failed to meet our deadline to put a real world-class offer on the table by Thursday 15 August. As a result, members are now commencing the process for protected industrial action.

In this week’s bargaining meeting, management once again displayed a total lack of respect by offering yet another cheapskate deal well below what we deserve. Management only increased their wage offer by 0.5% each year and once again refused to move on an extra week of annual leave. Management also did not move on job security via contractor wage parity.

Although management made some improvements to the Table Games classification and danced around improvements to health and safety, our bargaining team told Crown you ‘cannot divide and conquer us’.

"Crown management tried to divide and conquer your bargaining team and they failed! Crown management have been told: Not good enough!”, said James Harmor, a Table Games Delegate.

Union members have had enough of this disrespect and are now commencing the process of preparing for industrial action. From the beginning of next week, all members will be completing registration forms to commit to voting ‘yes’ in an industrial action ballot.

"Now is the time to show management we mean business. Enough is enough. Get ready to register and commit to taking protected industrial action," said Robert Szuhan a Security Delegate.

Only union members are able to take part in the industrial action process, so now is the time to make sure you, and everyone else in your area, are all current union members.

"It's on! Crown management have not moved enough – the time to join your union is NOW!!" said Su Jholl, an F&B Delegate.
Registration forms will be sent to all members by post so make sure you keep an eye out for yours.

Complete and return your registration form as soon as possible to send a strong and clear message to management that their time is up: we are ready to fight for the world-class standard we deserve.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 22 August.
