5 reasons to vote YES to the new EA

1. To be recognised for our sacrifices

Working at Crown often means working late nights, early mornings, weekends and public holidays. And sometimes it can have us feeling like this:

We are proud of our work at the casino, we are responsible for their record profits. But we didn’t want our sacrifices to be taken for granted.

At first, casino bosses told us a big fat no. So we stood up and hit the streets. And now, for the first time ever, a YES vote will lock in a recognition allowance to be paid twice yearly on top of our annual pay increase!

2. For fair career progression

The new EA will make some important changes that will improve access to career progression and promotion and also recognise the value of the work already being performed by some staff.

3. For improved access to annual leave

This is a big one! The response time for annual leave requests has been clarified, and all annual leave requests must receive a response within 7 days.

4. For fair pay

On top of our twice yearly recognition allowance, we will receive a 3.75% pay increase every year for the next 3 years. Both the recognition allowance and pay increase will be backpaid from July 1, when our agreement expired.

5. For better access to our union team

The new EA says that Casino Union members can have a union representative present in any meeting with management under Crown’s Conduct and Counselling Policy, where there is a possibility of a verbal warning or higher sanction.

And on that note, if you're not a member, now is the time to join. Because we wouldn't be the best paid casino workers in the country if it wasn't for thousands of us joining our big, strong union team. That's how we win - and that's how we'll keep on winning!
